Your cooperation with AGIAMONDO and CALDH

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.

Working together with AGIAMONDO and CALDH

The Centro para la Acciön Legal en Derechos Humanos (CALDH) is one of Guatemala's most renowned human rights organisations. The organisation supports the legal investigation of human rights violations committed during the civil war and promotes processes of historical remembrance, human rights education, and social dialogue.

The Casa de la Memoria “Kaji Tulam,” which is operated by CALDH, is a place for shared learning and remembrance. There, young people, teachers, and members of historically marginalised communities explore the causes and consequences of armed conflict and develop visions for a more just and peaceful society.

You will work in Guatemala City. The city offers good infrastructure, a wide range of recreational activities, and high-quality medical care. Due to its high elevation, the climate is mild year-round.

The security situation requires caution. In addition to general crime, the sensitive political context surrounding human rights and remembrance work must be taken into account. Business trips within the country will be a regular part of your job.

AGIAMONDO e. V. is the personnel service of the German Catholics for Development Cooperation. Through the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer professionals the opportunity to work with local partner organisations to support social change processes and strengthen peaceful conflict resolution.

The CPS is the programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. In Guatemala, the CPS supports civil society organisations in strengthening human rights, promoting social participation, and contributing to constructive dialogue about a violent past.
