Consultant for global climate justice and sustainable development (m/f/d), Aachen, Germany Arbeitsort: Köln

From development service to world service – world service workers from the Global South contribute their expertise, cultural and social background and productive otherness to the work of German church-based and non-profit NGOs in the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The world is in a global crisis and social-ecological change is required to address it. Shaping the transformation will call for the participation of all people in this world. As equals, we work together with our partner organizations in Africa, Asia and Latin America to support these people to improve their lives sustainably and out of their own re-sources. • You will design your own formats for information and educational events, including information and teaching materials for the topics of climate justice and intercultural education.
  • As part of the team, you will prepare strategies and establish new strategic contacts for the further development of educational and lobbying activities in the field of energy politics.
  • You will work on planning, preparation of materials for and implementation of educational events for the Lent campaign in schools, communities and educational institutions.

  • You have completed a university degree and have at least two years of professional experience.
  • You have very good knowledge of global contexts in the field of development politics and environmental and climate protection, and bring knowledge of your country’s national energy and climate politics, and ideally also international energy and climate politics.

  • Your working style is well structured, you are very reliable and you possess excellent organizational skills.
  • You are well connected in a civil society and are at home in an African country. After your contract years, you will be able to make use of your experience and network effectively in your home country.
