Responsible and challenging
AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of the German Catholics for Development Cooperation. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) offers development workers a meaningful role working with local development agents. The CPS is a personnel programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. It sets out to promote a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Working with church-related and civil-social partner organisations in Uganda, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution towards civil conflict management and the sustainable and equitable development of the country through peace-building measures.
Founded in 2022, the Catholic university firmly integrates peace education into its curriculum. It works with lecturers, students and external partners to further develop educational concepts. With its outreach programme, it also reaches remote regions and specifically promotes resilience - especially among young women. Dili is the urban centre of Timor-Leste with good infrastructure, a stable security situation and international connections. The city offers a wide range of leisure activities as well as schooling in English and Portuguese for all age groups. Basic medical care is provided by private clinics and the national hospital. Dili is considered a suitable location for families.
