Your work with AGIAMONDO and Podion

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Timor Leste, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.

The socio-economic program of Corporación Podion has been dealing with the ecological consequences of extractivism in Colombia for several years. A central focus is on documenting environmental violations and working with affected communities. The project, which builds on successful measures such as the ban on fracking, is dedicated to issues such as water protection and the environmental damage caused by oil extraction. In addition to lobbying, legal action is also being taken. Although Colombia has progressive environmental legislation, there is a lack of implementation and environmentalists and community members are often exposed to threats. The project collects baseline data on biodiversity and environmental damage in order to develop restoration measures - from negotiations with companies to legal action. Another focus is on the transfer of knowledge and skills to the communities. The position allows for business trips to different parts of the country to get to know different regional conditions. Bogotá offers a good quality of life and is considered suitable for families, although you should allow around two months to find accommodation at the beginning. Frequent trips lasting several days to the organizations and communities supported are also part of the job.
