Your work with AGIAMONDO and the Technical University of Mombasa

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of the German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer professionals the opportunity to perform meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The CPS is a personnel programme for the prevention of violence and the promotion of peace in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organisations in Kenya, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.

The Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) is a renowned public university in Kenya's coastal region with its main campus in Mombasa and campuses in Lamu and Kwale. The Department of Social Sciences offers degree programmes such as the B.A. in Conflict and Security Studies, Sociology and Development Studies as well as Masters and PhD programmes. The university is heavily involved in the community through its outreach programmes.

TUM aims to further expand its national and international partnerships with civil society organisations and academic institutions. A particular development potential lies in the stronger integration of religion and religious peace work into the curriculum and the creation of a research centre for religious peace work in order to better combine theory and practice.
