Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.

Cameroon is a country with great cultural diversity. In many places, however, social prejudices, conflicts over resources and a lack of dialogue lead to tensions. The Catholic partner organisation CDJP Garoua is meeting these challenges with a peace-building approach that focuses on awareness-raising, education and dialogue. The Catholic partner organization CDJP Garoua (Commission for Justice and Peace) is part of the social pastoral service of the Archdiocese of Garoua. In a region marked by internal displacement, resource conflicts, and social tensions, CDJP promotes peacebuilding, access to rights, and social cohesion through awareness, education, and dialogue.

As a professional in the Civil Peace Service (ZFD), you will support this approach through conflict-sensitive project work, educational formats, and systematic documentation of long-standing experiences. Garoua is suitable for singles, couples, and families with small children. A French primary school is available locally, and distance learning in the French system (CNED) is possible afterward. In addition to the French school, there are numerous Catholic and private educational institutions.
