Responsible and challenging
AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.
The JPC department, part of the pastoral department of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek, is committed to harmonious coexistence and non-violent conflict resolution through peace projects in various communities. In addition to training courses on psychosocial support and sport for peace, the department organises commemorative ceremonies. The Diocese of Rumbek is plagued by violent conflicts over resources, leading to deep mistrust and ongoing tensions. The Church enjoys a special status in this region as a reliable institution. Its work in the field of peace and justice, based on Christian social teaching, is recognised and appreciated by various actors. The hospitable communities in Rumbek view newcomers positively, as they are considered non-partisan in local conflicts and show respect for existing injustices.
