Educator for interfaith youth education and peace work (m/f/d)
Your tasks
- You will design and organise events for young people on topics such as interfaith dialogue, non-violent coexistence in a multi-ethnic society and social challenges such as youth unemployment or emigration.
- You will organise interethnic and interfaith meeting formats at regional, national and international level.
- You will strengthen the youth centre's networking efforts, especially with religious and civil society partners.
- You will organise training for employees of the youth centre in innovative methods of peace and remembrance work.
- Together with the team, you will further develop a concept for the youth centre's public relations work.
- You will be responsible for the proper disbursement and administration of financial resources on site in accordance with donor guidelines and AGIAMONDO specifications. You will work in partnership with the Youth Center for Pastoral Care.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in education, peace and conflict research, interfaith studies or a comparable field.
- You have several years of experience in youth work, particularly in interfaith dialogue, peace work or civil society education work.
- You are experienced in the conceptual design and implementation of youth exchanges, seminars, camps or workshops.
- You have knowledge of project management and of the organisational implementation of educational offers.
- You are experienced in networking and public relations, ideally in an interfaith or civil society environment.
- You speak fluent German and English and are willing to learn Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian.
- You have a driver's licence and driving experience.
- You are an EU or Swiss citizen and identify with the goals and concerns of church development and peace work.

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of the German Catholics for Development Cooperation. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) offers development workers a meaningful role working with local development agents. The CPS is a personnel programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. It sets out to promote a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Working with church-related and civil-social partner organisations in Bosnia and Herzgovina, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution towards civil conflict management and the sustainable and equitable development of the country through peace-building measures.
The Archdiocesan Center for Youth Pastoral Care in Sarajevo is an established education and meeting centre that has been offering more than 10,000 young people space for exchange, personal development and volunteering since 2007. It works in a multicultural, interfaith environment and has a modern infrastructure with an educational institution, kindergarten, sports hall, student residence and student association.
Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a culturally diverse city with a stable security situation, good medical care and a high quality of life. Sarajevo has several international schools, which provide high-quality education according to recognised international curricula. The surrounding area offers a wide range of leisure activities, from cultural events to outdoor activities in the surrounding mountains.
